Sunday, January 11, 1874: "A telegram from Minna Standhartner, saying my father has just been playing in Vienna (for the Franz Joseph Foundation), 'storms of applause,' which strikes us as strange!" Friday, July 3, 1874: "Arrival of the photographs of Marie Muchanoff, sent to me by Frau Standhartner, a moving moment, transporting me with R. into memories of her personality. 'Her downfall,' R. observes, 'was her inability to find words for the enthusiasm which she proved in deeds.'"
